To follow orders blindly & carry out actions which can kill/maim civilians etc, I am sure the soldiers are asking themselves why they do it. But at the end of the day they did choose willingly to join the military, they weren't drafted. There are times to take personal responsibility for ones actions, if you are the one that drops a bomb that might kill some bad guys and some good guys, you are still responsible even if you were ordered to do so.
