we are in a fascist country and to be honest we can't really cut social services before we cut everything else because the government has ruined the economy so much that people WOULD die if we instantly cut off Medicare. we need to get rid of it but we can't do it at once, because the government has screwed things up so much."Let them die. If people do not care enough to donate, then those people should not be saved through coercive mandate, just as we don't force people to donate all their disposable income to Africa to save the 3,000 kids that die there every day from preventable diseases." -thecoolestguyi felt it was important to find your quote in context. you worded it in a very poor way by saying "let them die", but your point is basically that if we force people to pay for everyone's healthcare here, then we should do the same for people in Africa, and people aren't really calling for that, which is a good point. and we would have to have such ridiculously high taxes to acheive that goal, that it would stifle all economic production and we would become a 3rd world country ourselves. while liberals have noble goals, their goals just don't work and they cause even more poverty than before their policies were put in place.to be honest i dont really care if a state has some sort of health insurance program, it might even work as it would be locally run, but in general libertarianism works and socialism doesn't, imo. |
