At least they stopped making light bulbs in our country.
I have actually done quite a bit of UDP socket programming once to implement (imitate) an NFS server. It was quite easy to use (at least on the server side). You're right though; it could use a higher layer so that you do not need to worry packet re-assembly, out-of-order packets and timeouts; I had to do this myself, but it was not too hard. Is there such a connectionless protocol on top of UDP?

Yeah, because an ex-president showing up to pay respects to injured military and civilians would NEVER be reported to anyone. The only way Fox News could ever hear about it is if Bush called them up himself and said "Hey, I just visited Fort Hood. Sorry I didn't tell you beforehand so you could cover it." Fox News would never have believed it coming from anyone else.Seriously, think before you type. I hate Bush for his lies about Iraq and torture. I support health care reform, particularly single payer health care, even covering dental. I'm for gay marriage. I think the drug war is the worse thing to ever happen to America. I'm more liberal than Obama. But I have some respect for Bush for making this visit. I live on the outskirts of Temple, Tx, about 15 minutes from Fort Hood. I have family living in Killeen who visits the base often. Not everyone in this area is conservative, and Bush knows that. This was not a Republican visiting Republicans. This was an American visiting injured American soldiers and civilians. Can't you drop the hate just enough to say something nice, or at least show enough respect to keep your mouth closed? You probably think Republicans are what's wrong with this country. Well, I say attitudes like yours is what's wrong with this country.?
