Military ship building isn't particularly profitable, or haven't you noticed that America has only a handful of naval shipyards compared with dozens historically? Same with armories.
Thank you Greywren, very good explanation. Basically, it's a version of the simplest explanation is probably correct. And MOND wants to come along and take a simple proven explanation, and add seemingly arbitrary modifications to it so that the predictions can fit the observations.If that's the case, that just sounds like bad science. I can see why it's ostracized. However, i'm always leery of just outright dismissing someone. I'm sure the first person to postulate that the sun didn't rotate around the earth sounded like a quack also, I mean, you CAN observe the sun moving in the sky, am i right. It took people to think outside the box and offer that the earth could be moving and the observations be the same.It might be that way with gravitational theories. Something comes along that looks at old theories in a new way. I'm not saying that MOND is it, but the moment you start eliminating things without having the full answer yourself, you don't know if you're actually eliminating the correct answer.

The habs jersey is 98 years old. It seems odd to compare it to jerseys that are only a few years old and judge them all by modern fashion standards. Or do you think that in 2107, they won't look back and find our present day jerseys ugly? For all I know the Habs jersey was baller back in its day... Or maybe it was ugly back then too.

What about the chick that was going for the ball and Lambert did one of those "I'm going to flail both of my arms all over the place and by flail I mean wack you upside the head five or six times" type moves? It starts at about 1:11. It's similar to when Kobe Bryant got suspended for shooting a jump shot and "following through" with a slap in the face to the defender (I believe it was Marco Jaric, but I"m too lazy to look it up).
