I read that there wasn't enough time to create the amount of radioactive material needed to make the first A-bombs, based on the output potential of the refineries in the US at the time; and that some of the material must have come from the Nazis. Anyone else heard similar things?
bro he had a dollar bill. Nobody took that ***** seriously.

I live in Berlin and the picture of the Brandenburger Gate are almost surreal, so freaking empty... now it's the most built up area. fun fact, the cleared out area in the second Brandenburger Gate picture is the place where they just build the new US embassy: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2049/2536351622_5c8 ....
I am dating a girl who was allergic to her ex's spermBut she's not allergic to mineWhich is awesome for me.....But make me wonder why I am different.......lol!

@MacintoshreaderIf I normally pay $150 for a CPU than paying $250 is a LOT more. That is like instead buying a Chevy Cobalt (a nice card btw) to a BMW 3 series car. Yes, the BMW is nice but I prefer buying the cheaper car even if I could afford the BMW. |

We're talking about 1983, dumbass. Reagan didn't cut taxes for another 4 years. That's 6 years of 50% or over under Reagan (one year was 69%!). So far his first year has half the tax rate of Reagan's first year. Obama could raise taxes to 50% and it would take him 7 years to match Reagan. Not to mention nationalising air traffic controllers. If Obama is a socialist, Reagan was even more of a socialist. Could you imagine Obama nationalising an industry over a strike? The right would have a field day!

A gold standard would in essence stall economic growth because the supply of money that keeps on funding new innovations and ideas would just contract. The amount of gold and precious metals out there is ridiculously small, especially when compared to the amount of people in america and the world (About 100,000 tons exist ~ 300 million people in the USA), and would only serve to frustrate the liquidity of money.

Why do people always bring up the eye example? It started with simple sensitivity to light and then progressively being able to make out more and more detail until you could clearly see. It probably would happen "fast" as being able to see clearly is generally a pretty huge advantage. And it's not like kangaroo pouches just slowly flipped around. If a sideways pouch was useless, there is no particular reason it would be passed down. Just looking at humans there are pretty vast physical mutations when cells don't split right early on (like extra limbs). Become a scientist and try and figure out how the pouch changed direction. Not being able to explain something is NOT proof against it.And a bear will always be a bear. Until it turns white and can catch food easier. Then maybe it migrates south and doesn't need it's hair at all anymore. So it loses it and so it can swim better. Then we have epic shark vs. bear battles.

It is a personal decision. Usually the "regular" flu severely effects the elderly and people with pre-existing lung disease. The swine flu seems to be different. We are seeing many more severe infections in teenagers, young adults, and pregnant women. Now the death rate seems to be lower, but it also seems like these are younger healthier people dying from this. We have had several teenagers die in our city from the swine flu, and our ICU is about half-filled with swine flu patients.I can tell you that the chance of you dying from the swine flu is extremely low, but in my mind it really isn't worth taking the chance. I got the vaccine this week, and am taking my kids in next week for theirs. I didn't get the regular flu vaccine this year, as about 90% of our flu is H1N1. |
