Most managers just don't understand the 'getting the project done on time' vs 'i want my x hours of work from you.' >:]I don't know why you would* want to work from home though, doing it part time seems find, but if you're completely outside of the 'social circle' in a work environment and have no interaction with your boss, hell if they don't even know you exist other than the occasional completed project from you... it's not a hard choice to just get rid of you over someone else if push comes to shove.Most people are only capable of thinking from their perspective, so I'm not surprised this is debated. But if you thought more objectively about the nature of social dynamics and the value of human interaction you would see it's actually a risk against you to work from home, at least when talking about an office job.I think the choice comes down to the nature of the job or work being done, it should not be a universal choice..

He's rich. I looked into it. Those windmills are expensive as anything, major $$$.The only thing I do is use an abandoned well that wasn't capped. I fire it up to cool the house using solar; the water is pumped using PE panels and a few golf cart batteries and goes right back down, I use a couple of truck radiators and fans I found at a junkyard to blow the cool air from the well water around the place. I got the solar panels for free and I was lucky to have a place with the well. My next project is to do solar heating making a box with plexiglass and more radiators inside of it to heat water, a burned out electric water tank for heat storage, use the same "central" radiator contraption. (My friend owns a junkyard). I guess I could use an instant-on propane water heater for when there's no sun. Better than lighting fires in the wood stove.It's a cabin, on a slab, not my home, but I work here.?
