Computers suck at it because speech is actually incredible complex. It isn't just a finite collection of phonetics. We change how we say things based on their context, our emotion, etc. Speech is a sign of real intelligence.
In Seattle, PETA is trying to ban the tradition of tossing fish by fishmongers in Pike Place Market.

The good bikes come with data collection these days, just plug in laptop when you finish your run and analyze away.Serious track time people hook up onboard camera and gps units and produce really neat videos with all sorta of interesting data.!

***** road trips. I've been going on road trips with my family ever since I was born and I hate them more and more every year. Just leaving florida (we're in miami) is about a 9 hour drive. The road trip is always the same thing every year. Drive, eat and explore for a few hours, drive, eat and explore for a few hours. drive, eat and explore for a few hours, stay at some hotel to sleep, repeat. I don't care how big and comfortable your car is (last three years has been in their escalade, which i think anyone would agree its a big comfortable car), it gets extremely uncomfortable after a few hours and you can't wait to hit that next rest stop.We have done miami to california a few times, miami to ontario, miami to new york, miami to chicago, miami to denver, and lots more. It also kind of sucks spending like $100 in gas a day. What sucks even more is going into a major city and being stuck in traffic for 6 hours (atlanta, im looking at you)luckily with the invention of XM radio, having crappy radio stations to listen to is a thing of the past. even then, I don't care how much you're into one genre, but me listening to any genre for 18 hours a day for two weeks straight (and it's the radio, they'll repeat the same 20 songs over and over) will make me want to hurt someone

So companies like exxon, which make $181 Billion annual Profit, are going to make the consumer pay for increased regulations? And companies like BP are going to continue ignoring their maintenance and safety concerns (to cut costs), so more North Slope Oil spills can occur? Awesome! Go Energy Monopoly.

No it is not. Go out to the high desert Cedar mesa Utah or Chaco canyon New Mexico set up a tent and go to sleep on a moonless night. Set your alarm clock for 1:00am and then getup without tuning on any light even the one on your watch and go out and look at the sky. You will be stunned! I was! it was breathtaking, The milky way is a clear and as bright as the pictures you see here. |
