I really don't know how everyone reached the consensus that two local elections mean absolutely everything for the future of government at the federal level, national policy, Obama's re-election, etc. It's like saying a duel between two soldiers will determine who will win the war, it's just sensationalist, attention-grabbing *****.
" Motorola’s first smartphone had too many monikers. Launched on T-Mobile (DT) and powered by Google's (GOOG) Android, it was called the Cliq with Motoblur. "Wasn't the Q Moto's first smart phone? And is smartphone smart phone one or 2 words?

You know what? No. It's beyond the typical "government is out to get us" paranoia to automatically assume that no one reported the driver. If the cop pulled the guy over for no reason, the story would have been "after officers noticed him driving erratically". Also, if you're over the limit, don't drive. I don't care how good of a driver you think you are, you're not. A beer or two, probably won't put you over .08, so you wouldn't be *****, but if you are over .08, don't ***** drive. The fact of the matter is, alcohol makes you a bad driver. Too many people die every year from impaired drivers, and it's completely preventable. If you can afford to go to the bar and get drunk, you can afford a ***** cab, or at least to bribe a sober friend to give you a ride home.?
“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated... I hold that the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man" -- Mahatma Gandhi (1869 - 1948) |

"a processor as smart as the human brain would require at least 10 megawatts to operate."*****. We have processors and we have 10 megawatts available. If we knew how it could be done we would be doing it. 10 megawatts is just a number pulled out of someone's ass for an application they have no idea how to achieve. The statements is as relevant as the 1.21 Gigawatts used as a joke above.

Right, but you're ignoring a fundamental paradox of the racial issue.Race matters. We wish it didn't, but it does. Why? Because people are still discriminated against based on race. It's not really ethically responsible to just "stop acknowledging race all together" because most people, and racists in particular, aren't going to join you in doing so. Ultimately, all you will have accomplished is the turning of a blind eye to racial discrimination.Don't get me wrong. I wish it was that way. I wish we could just start ignoring race altogether, but we're not their yet. In the mean time, it would not be just to start ignoring race and racial discrimination by extension.
