There's two ***** camps when it comes to whaling.There's the "ban all whaling always, because whales are cute and intelligent" *****, and the "allow all whaling because tradition" *****. One side tries to stop hunting of the most common large wild mammal on earth, the pilot whale, while the other pretends to be doing science while turning endangered blue whales into dogfood.I'd like to see someone take a rational approach, and advocate sustainable harvesting. Quotas, no killing of endangered species, and allowed but regulated trade in products of species which are not endangered.Doesn't seem like much hope for that, though, so until the pro-whaling ***** sober up I'm going to side with the anti-whaling ***** because at least they're not destroying a valuable resource.
