“Is that an actual question?Mammary glands, they lactate, no eggs, fur, is it that hard to deduce whether an animal is a mammal or not?

Through out history we see the human population exploiting it's environment to the maximum possible with the technology current for the time. We filled all possible ecological niches available, expanding the population to the limits imposed by technology, not environment. For example, ancient Egypt, in the largest desert in the world, was the 'bread basket' for thousands of years. Mesopotamia in considered the cradle of civilization, again in the middle of a desert. Faced with 'impossible' situations, human kind has repeatedly risen to the challenge, and triumphed. If we can do it in desserts, why not in rain forests? In other words, the question isn't did it happen, but rather, what technology enabled a large and diverse population. After all, why would humans in the Americas been inherently different than humans elsewhere??
How much would I pay for a future of discrimination based on genes. Instead of judging based on the color of skin or the religion, we'll be judging DNA sequences; it's madness. |

I'm not sure I'd consider this a "Much better use" - not to say I don't think NASA is using them for a good purpose, but the Globalhawk is a reconcense plane. When used as a "Warplane" it's primary purpose is to provide up to date battlefield and stratigic data. This saves soldiers lives and also the lives of civilians by providing immediate data on where the enemy is and thus allowing for precision strikes that avoid blowing up the wrong target.Without good intelligence from these aircraft, it's back to the days of "carpet bombing" and hoping you strike a target.

I'll be honest I don't have a better system in mind, but I feel that judges and prosecutors should not be elected politicians. They become more focused on getting re-elected than actually dishing out fair justice. How many cases like this have we heard of? At least there should be strict national sentencing guidelines to take some of the power away from the states. Why is a crime in one state more or less punished in another? The answer is not because it was fair punishment, it is because the Judge is trying to appease his base. Also the appeals process should be done with a neutral third party. I get convicted by a corrupt prosecutor or judge, than I get his buddy here my case from the same district. Our justice system really needs to be revamped, more than any other part of our government. |
