That's not true for all jobs. I know a lot of people who dress "weird", and they've all found gainful employment in jobs that aren't uptight about what you wear. It may not be EASY to be different, but it certainly can be done. Let kids decide for themselves if their personal fashion choices are worth the extra effort. For some, it is.

You run into this kind of ***** in almost ANY big city. Aggressive panhandlers run out and spray ***** on your window and start smearing it with a greasy rag and then demand a couple of bucks for the service - you park and a guy with a gas can comes up telling you a story about how his kid is in the car and he is out of gas, you get off the freeway and there is a 19 year old with a "Out of work, Viet Nam vet, Hungry! God Bless" cardboard sign... Oh... I'm talking about Sacramento California. I moved to the suburbs of Canton Ohio, and the only time I've had this ***** happen to me in the last 3 years is when I was visiting Cleveland, DC, Columbus, Barcelona, going back to Sac, etc. You want to get away from it? Join the white flight to the suburbs of the Midwest - but be ready to be stuck with a bunch of fat, boring white people drinking in their basements and watching the game on Sunday night for excitement. Can't say for sure which is worse, yet. |
