NO, that is not the reason why we have problems with the muslim world, we have had issues with radical islamists for a long time. This week is the 30th anniversary of the beginning of the Iranian hostage crisis. Without getting into dozens of other examples, that's simply a look at how little you seem to know about history.2) There was a memo, not issued by the Clinton administration, but issued by the CIA a few weeks before 9/11 that said terrorists may be interested in using planes as bombs. But they didn't know where or when, what was he supposed to do? Ground all planes indefinitely? That would have been asinine and caused a giant panic. Remember these guys only had boxcutters and it was the first real example of hijackers killing passengers on a mass scale, so it probably would have just delayed the inevitable, anyway.3) Anybody that considers attacking the United States know there will be retaliation. Anyone who has ever studied our military history in the slightest knows that we will apply swift and overwhelming force towards anyone who has attacked us.4) The shooter at Fort Hood was not being sent overseas to "kill his brethren." He is from Virginia, and he is a god damned psychotherapist, not a soldier. He certainly didn't seem to have any issue with shooting people, so I doubt he is much of a pacifist anyway.
